Nominating Committee
The Board of Directors appoints the Nominating Committee each fall. The committee’s
responsibility is to nominate persons to run for the positions that are up for
election.Anyone who wants to serve on the Nominating Committee is encouraged to contact the director from your area.
Nomination by Petition:
Our Bylaws provide a process whereby anyone wishing to run for a position on the Board can do so by using a petition form that you can get at our Wiggins Office.
The three main requirements of the petition process are that the person wishing to run for an open position must be a member of the Association. He/she must also be from the area of the open position. The ten persons signing the petition must be from the same area as the person running for that position.
The petition is to be returned to the Wiggins Office 45 days before our Annual Meeting.
Uncontested Election:
Article III, Section 3 (a) of our By-Laws tells us what to do in an uncontested election. Section 3(a) states that when the nomination process is completed and the Director(s) are running unopposed “… the election for any such Directorship shall be cancelled and a unanimous ballot shall be automatically cast for the election of any Director running unopposed.”
If all Directors are running unopposed, ballots will not be sent out for that year and a unanimous ballot will be cast at the Annual Meeting.
